New Summer Interns For The Federal Public Defenders Office

Dr. Brian Cahill is sponsoring two students that were selected to be summer interns for the Federal Public Defenders office Capital Habeas Unit. The Federal Defenders office was initially looking for only one intern but they were so impressed by Alexandra and Dominique they created an extra position.

Alexandra and Dominique will have the unique opportunity to receive hands-on experience in defending federal criminal cases. They will also assist with trial preparation and investigation/mitigation, to include interviewing clients and witnesses, visiting clients in local jail facilities, and helping the attorneys plan case strategies.

Alexandra Carr: LinkedIn

I am entering my senior year at UF as an Art and Psychology major to graduate with both a Bachelor’s degree in science and art. I am also pre-law and have recently decided I would like to apply both psychology and law to my future career. I would love to work in the field of legal psychology and criminal law and have grown really passionate about these subjects through all the upper level courses I have been taking in psychology. I am so excited for this internship to get the direct experience of what I hope to do in the future. This internship is right in line with my future career goals and I am very excited for this amazing opportunity to work as a federal intern.
