2022 – 2023 New Faculty Members

Please welcome our 2022-2023 New Faculty Members Dr. Corina Jimenez-Gomez, Assistant Professor,  and Dr. Chris Podlesnik, Associate Professor in our Behavior Analysis Area and Dr. Shanting Chen, Assistant Professor, in our Developmental Area.

Dr. Corina Jimenez-Gomez conducts applied and translational behavioral research in the areas of choice, decision making, and reinforcement processes, the use of technology to support caregivers and staff in clinical and educational settings, and cultural responsiveness in behavior analytic research and practice.

Dr. Chris Podlesnik examines the role of fundamental learning processes in behavioral persistence, relapse, and conditional discriminations, using laboratory, crowdsourcing, and clinical methods. His work emphasizes translational research designed to improve the durability of behavioral interventions for challenging behaviors in individuals with autism and developmental disabilities.

Dr. Shanting Chen examines the intersection of stress, family, and cultural contexts in understanding the development of ethnic/racial minoritized adolescents. She takes a strength- (rather than risk-) based approach to explore the adaptive and protective factors (e.g., parental/peer cultural socialization, psychological resilience) that promote ethnic minority adolescents’ academic outcomes and psycho-social and physical development.
