Given the diversity of the research programs in our department, it is not surprising that our students have many different kinds of employment opportunities when they finish the Ph.D. The majority of our graduates go on to academic jobs as professors in colleges or universities, but our graduates also include research consultants, therapists, grant directors, national research laboratory faculty, researchers for major corporations, and policy-makers. Initial job placements for each specialization area show that our graduates are very competitive in the academic and applied job markets (see area websites).
