ABOUT THE PROGRAM:

The PhD in Developmental Psychology encompasses the lifespan, from prenatal through late adulthood. The program involves collaborative and independent research activities, professional training, and teaching activities. The objective is to train and educate Ph.D. students towards careers in academia or industry. Research training begins in the first term of graduate school. Each student works closely with a single faculty member designated as their primary advisor. Other faculty are available for co-mentoring and collaborative research.

DEVELOPMENTAL PHD REQUIREMENTS

Students in the Developmental PhD program complete all the Departmental Graduate Requirements as well as the Developmental Program Requirements and must stay in compliance with Graduate School Regulations. The program’s emphasis is on research and methodology in developmental science. Students also gain experience teaching and mentoring and are provided with opportunities to present and publish their work.
