t_WhiteDr. Keith White retires after 38 years!

How would you describe your research interests?

I want to learn how the brain works. I want to discover how to improve lives. I want to develop instruments and analytic tools to help learn those answers. Such diverse specific aims and hypotheses interest me that I doubt whether the questions will run out in my lifetime.

What do you plan to do after retirement?

I will keep doing research with the neuroimaging community at UF and at the VA. Some of the work planned will use new imaging technologies for which I am inventor or co-inventor on the patents. I plan to work more closely with the Office of Technology Licensing to get those and other patents into wider use. I also plan to work with the Tech Toy Box, which was started by a friend and co-inventor to provide technical support to entrepreneurial start-ups.

What will you miss most about the psychology department?

I will miss most having regular interactions with my colleagues and our graduate students, with my friends on the staff, andwith the students who are just discovering new ideas and interests, I will still be around to interact but on a less predictable basis.
