Professors Lisa Scott and Andreas Keil from the UF Department of Psychology have received a $2,445,404 grant from the National Eye Institute (NEI) at the National Institutes of Health for their project, Visuocortical Foundations of Development.
The research will map how visual abilities develop during infancy and explore how early vision supports later brain and learning processes. The team will create new tools for assessing early visual processing using vision screening, eye-tracking, EEG, and AI technologies.
