Dr. Martha S. Zlokovich has built an inspiring career dedicated to teaching, leadership, and advancing the field of psychology worldwide. After earning her graduate degrees from the University of Florida, she began her academic career at Southeast Missouri State University, where she served for 17 years as a professor, department chair, and leader in faculty governance.

In 2008, Dr. Zlokovich became the Executive Director of Psi Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology, after years of involvement as a chapter advisor, regional vice president, and national president. During her tenure, Psi Chi expanded globally, establishing 32 international chapters in 19 countries and launching its first society-wide fundraising initiatives.

Her research has explored topics such as student learning, academic persistence, and adolescent development. She also helped create Psi Chi’s Network for International Collaborative Exchange (NICE), a global research initiative connecting psychology students and faculty across continents to collaborate on shared projects.

Beyond her academic and administrative achievements, Dr. Zlokovich has held numerous leadership roles, including serving as President of the Association of College Honor Societies and President-Elect of APA Division 52 (International Psychology). Her career reflects a lifelong commitment to education, research, and fostering global collaboration in psychology.
