Roberto Abreu, Assistant Professor, was awarded 2023 Best Book Award for APA Div 44, Society for the Psychology of Sexual Orientation and Gender Diversity and 2024 Best Paper Award at the National Conference of the American Association of Hispanics in Higher Education.
Brian Cahill, Associate Instructional Professor, earned 1st place for the Dr. Charles J. Fleener Outstanding Pre-Law Chapter Advisor Award for the 4th consecutive year from the National Phi Alpha Delta Pre Law Fraternity. His commitment to supporting and guiding the students is evident in the consistent recognition he has received.
Dr. Cahill, along with Rebecca Kern, an undergraduate student was also given the Haskell Faculty and Student Research Award.
Ron Chandler, Associate Instructional Professor and Undergraduate Coordinator, received the McNair Scholars Postbaccalaureate Achievement Award and 5-Years of Service Award from Psi Chi International Honors Society. Additionally, Dr. Chandler published second edition of his textbook, “The Psychology of Sustainability: Understanding the Relationship Between Self and Earth”. 100% of royalties is donated to Conservation Initiative for the Asian Elephant!

Lori Knackstedt, Associate Professor, was awarded University of Florida Research Foundation Professorship. Feihong Wang, Associate Instructional Professor, was granted the 2024 Global Learning Institute Award with the value to $5,000 from the Office of Global Learning at UF International Center. The program is cohort-based and supports a select group of faculty’s curriculum globalization initiatives with relevant tools, techniques, and resources. Additionally, Dr. Wang was awarded Best Presentation Award at the International Conference on Developmental Psychology and Attachment Theory!
Gregory Webster, Professor, was awarded University of Florida Term Professorship and R. David Thomas Endowed Professorship in Psychology. Dr. Webster was also winner of the 2023 Europe Through Photography Photo Contest at the UF Center for European Studies for his photograph of Wawal Castle and Cathedral Krakow, Poland.

Carolyn M. Tucker, Research Professor, has dedicated her career to supporting under-served communities, inspiring new generations toward community-based participatory health and health care research, public service, and scholarship, a record of achievement that was recently recognized with a first-place Sapphire Award from the Florida Blue Foundation. In recognition of her tireless service to building healthier communities and providing hundreds with power over cancer, Carolyn M. Tucker, Ph.D., has received a 2024 President’s Lifetime Achievement Award from the office of U.S. President Joe Biden. Read more.
Iser DeLeon, professor, was this year’s recipient of the American Psychological Association’s (Division 25) Nathan H. Azrin Distinguished Contribution to Applied Behavior Analysis Award. The Nathan H. Azrin Distinguished Contribution to Applied Behavior Analysis Award recognizes innovative and important research on applications of behavioral principles to address socially significant human behavior.
Chris Podlesnik, Associate Professor from UF Psychology was awarded Society for the Experimental Analysis of Behavior Don Hake Translational Research Award from Division 25 of the American Psychological Association. This award of $750 from Division 25 of the American Psychological Association is in recognition and celebration of pioneering contributions to the translation of research examining fundamental behavioral processes and clinical application. Research in behavior analysis the areas of reinforcement, choice and decision making, persistence, and relapse contributed to improved understanding of and implementation of interventions for individuals diagnosed with intellectual disabilities. An invited address will be presented at the 2024 Convention of the American Psychological Association in Seattle.
