Frederick L. Coolidge, Ph.D. received his BA (1969), MA (1970), and PhD (1974) from the University of Florida and completed a two-year Postdoctoral Fellowship (1974-1976) in Clinical Neuropsychology at Shands Teaching Hospital, University of Florida. He came to the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs (UCCS) in 1979. He was Chair of the UCCS Psychology Department from 1986-1989 and served as the Clinical Psychology Director from 1981-1984. Fred is a three-time Fulbright Fellowship Award recipient (India, 1987, 1992, 2005). He has received three teaching awards including the lifetime designation, University of Colorado Presidential Teaching Scholar. He received the UCCS Letters, Arts, and Sciences Annual Outstanding Research and Creative Works Award (2004) and the UCCS Annual Faculty Award for Excellence in Research (2006). For the month of March 2015, he was appointed Senior Visiting Scholar at Oxford University, Keble College, UK. For the past 7 years, he has been a Visiting Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar, India, teaching courses on brain evolution, statistics, and sleep and dreams. Fred has published 13 books, spanning the disciplines of psychological assessment, neuropsychology, the evolution of cognition, cognitive archaeology, and the science of sleep and dreaming.
