Walk To End Alzheimer’s

The UF Aging Scholars Team stepped up and out into the community again this year for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. The team walked, creating memories together – while raising awareness for those who no longer can. Thanks to donations from Psychology alumni, faculty, students & friends, the team raised close to $3000. Our 23 walkers from Psychology and the broader UF and Gainesville community were led by co-captains Riley Bass and Gaya Prabhakaran (Life Story Lab: Dr. Bluck).

Alzheimer’s Disease is fatal: there is no cure. The walk is a compassionate, dedicated effort to raise awareness about dementia’s effects on older people and their families. The Alzheimer’s Association funds research/programs and provides caregiver support. For North & Central Florida Chapter, visit http://www.alz.org/cnfl/
