Undergraduate Research Forum

Thanks so much to everyone who supported the Department of Psychology on UF’s Giving Day 2023! Your generosity supported this event and prizes!

Each Spring, the Psychology Graduate Student Organization (PGSO) hosts an Undergraduate Research Forum to give undergraduate researchers the chance to show what they’ve been working on in their labs over the past year(s) and compete for a monetary prize. This year–with the first in-person presentations since 2019!–we had a total of 30 posters spanning various psychological topics.

While there were many high-quality posters from talented undergraduates, the top three poster presenters are as follows:

Derek Simon, a 3rd year undergraduate working with Dr. Erin Westgate, received 1st place with their research on general ethics and quality of life on decision-making.

Ryan Faulkner, a 3rd year undergraduate working with Dr. Brian Odegaard, received 2nd place with their research on visual changes during saccadic eye movement supporting higher order theories of consciousness.

Taylor-Rose Connors, a 4th year undergraduate working with Dr. Ben Lewis, received 3rd place with their research on associations between emotion regulation ability and outcomes for substance use disorder treatments.
