Undergrad Students Showcase Research at Posters on the Hill

This year, two of our undergraduate students, Dinia Salmeron and Jessie Somerville, had the opportunity to showcase their research at the 22nd Annual Posters on the Hill event in Washington, D.C. sponsored by the Council of Undergraduate Research and the American Chemical Society. This competitive event provides students with the unique opportunity of showcasing their research to members of Congress, meeting with their local representatives, and advocate for undergraduate research. Our project on the “Safety of Chronic Intranasal Oxytocin Administration and Functional Benefits in Aging” was one of 60 projects selected from over 400 applications. At the event, Dinia and Jessie were able to interact with researchers and students from across the country, congressional staff, federal government officials, and others, demonstrating the value of research in promoting greater functioning and quality of life for the older adult population in the United States.
