Anne Katz, the Chair of the Book Award Committee, said this about Dr. Mintz and her new book:

“Dr Laurie Mintz’s book, Becoming Cliterate turns conventional thinking about sex on it’s head – and it’s about time! While many in the sex therapy and counselling world recognize that penis in vagina sex is not the holy grail, the discourse on human sexuality suggests otherwise. Becoming Cliterate is written for women and the men and women who participate in their pleasure – but ultimately this is a guidebook to finding your own pleasure with perhaps a little help from your partner included in the last chapter. This book has appeal and a great deal of utility for younger women as they embark on a journey of self-discover but will also help women of all ages and at all stages of sexual rediscovery. From the political to the personal, Mintz dispels myths and misunderstandings and points the way to sexual pleasure with wit, honesty and good information. This book is a worthy winner of the 2019 SSTAR Consumer Book award and more than that, a “must read’ for anyone who owns a clitoris!”
