New Students

Welcome to the Psychology Department at the University of Florida! Many of our current graduate students are keenly aware of the difficulties that can be involved in moving to a new city and starting a new academic career in the transition from undergraduate to graduate school. Not only that, but there are many tasks you must do, for the first time, in the first few weeks after you arrive in Gainesville. To reduce needless stress and help out our new students, in 2005, Shauna Springer developed a guide for first-year students. Since then, the guide has been reviewed and updated several times by the graduate coordinator and the Graduate Student Advisory Board. We hope you find this handbook information to be helpful as you begin your graduate studies.
