General Information
The Behavior Analysis Research Clinic (BARC) uses Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) methods to increase and maintain desirable adaptive behavior, reduce interfering behavior, teach new skills and generalize these skills to a variety of settings and circumstances. Dr. Timothy Vollmer and the BARC clinical director, Kerri Peters, Ph.D, BCBA-D, supervise doctoral and undergraduate Behavior Analysis students when providing these services in our on-campus clinic, homes, and schools. ABA is based on scientifically validated procedures and relies on direct observation, measurement, and analysis of behavior. It is currently the only treatment for autism with enough independent scientific research to be endorsed as effective by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the United States Surgeon General.
Nicole Z. Walker Scholarship
Nicole Zeug Walker was the first clinical director of the BARC and donated countless hours of service to establishing the BARC and ensuring behavior analytic services were being offered to students in the Gainesville community. In her honor, the Nicole Z. Walker Scholarship was established to provide services to an individual in the community through the BARC.
